Kabir Khan does it again. After making commercial and critically acclaimed movies like New York and Ek Tha Tiger, he directs a heart warming tale of a man with a benevolent, big-hearted spirit who tries to take a young Pakistani mute girl back to her parents. The movie will make you cry and laugh with little angel Harshaali Malhotra and you would also want to nod your head while keeping your hand up and  palm out. Nawazuddin Siddiqui makes an appearance again in the list. But the acting of Salman Khan outshines all, he makes his return after some bad movies in a big way.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan and starring Varun Dhawan and (surprise surprise) Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Badlapur is a pure revenge movie where the protagonist tries to avenge his family’s death. A story about Man turning into animal, story grips the viewer and rest of the cast acts well along with Varun and Nawazuddin.

4.Tanu Weds Manu Returns

Quirky Tanu and humane Manu are back and this time they are funnier and better. The sequel of 2011 Drama Tanu Weds Manu holds strong independently too and is the surprise of the year. The Rom-Com held a decent strong acting from almost all the cast, with special funny bursts from Deepak Dobriyal (pappi) and Jimmy Shergil. Madhawan is good in the movie too.

But the showstopper and the one who steals the show is Kangana Ranaut, in probably one of the best double roles in the cinema history. Her acting is so brilliant that you will have trouble believing that Tanu and Kusum are portrayed by same actors. She will surely add up her Award collections this year.

3.Drishyam

drishyam-poster-11

Though this may be a remake of a Malayalam Movie but Ajay Devgan and Tabu Starrer Drishyam is one of the best Mystery Thriller i have seen from Bollywood probably in the last decade or so. The story involves a father who tries to save his family from unexpected murder charge of a boy. The less you knwo the better it will be.

While the acting department may not be strong than other movies in top 5, the clever woven story eclipses it. While watching this brilliantly edited and directed movie you will be surely Dumbstruck and jaw opened at various points. One actor Tabu has done justice to her character and she helds on to her character of a mother more than a Police officer.

Director Shoorjit Sircar engineers a beautiful and a comic script into a more beautiful movie starring Deepika padukone, Amitabh Bachan,Irffan Khan and Moushami Chaterjee. The story involves relationship between a father (who has bowel issues) and a daughter living in the well developed regions of capital Delhi and their conflicting ideologies. While over the top this movie looks like a comedy fest and it actually is a comedy fest. the movie involves deeper emotions than any other movie in this list. the clash of old and new between Amitabh and Deepika while may be hilarious to watch gives an important message. They may always keep fighting each other but father and daughter had deep emotional requirement of  each other. Irffan Khan adds up to the comic element with funny bengali Amithabh Bachhan .Every character in the movie has a depth which every movie tries to achieve. There is another message in the movie which you might explore by yourself.

The Movie is an emotional rollercoaster ride with excellent humor.

1.Massan-Fly Away Solo

Massan a movie which made us believe that there is still hope with Indian moviegoers. The movie was screened in Cannes Flim festival where it was awarded with Two awards and a five minute standing ovation. Indian Drama movie which was in a way a part of indie cinema reached to common audience and they embraced it with open hands.

The Directorial Debut of Neeraj Ghaywan starring Richa Chaddha, Vicky Kaushal, Sanjay Mishra and Shweta Tripathi is a story of two families revolving around the ghats of Kashi. The Movie itself is a poetic masterpiece and gives a message of an act of letting go. While the movie is not for everyone it has a bold message to give and the movie do this bravely. The act of Inter Caste marriage is shown in a great way.The Movie will haunt you days after you watch it and have an impact. The camera work and direction in Varanasi is brilliant with Richa Chaddha’s acting providing the base to the movie. Whole cast acts brilliantly and the script grips you to the end.
